All God’s Blessings,
Your First Visit
We are looking forward to your first visit for worship! When you arrive you, you will find a warm, welcoming and intentionally seeking community of people; some of whom are families, some single, some children, some elders, some people live in Winchester, some from adjacent towns, and some from other states. We welcome all people to join us as we seek to love God and serve others.
We are formally informal and will welcome you with joy in the form of a cup of coffee or tea and a homemade goodie, whether you show up in your PJs or Easter best.
What Happens on Sunday Mornings?
We have two worship services on Sunday morning. Our 8:30 am communion service is a more intimate service, accompanied by our organist. Our 10:45 am service is considered our main service and features our chancel choir. Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month.
In between our two worship services, at 9:30 am, we have church school for ALL AGES. Children meet downstairs or in Gifford Hall for a variety of activities and discussions. Our adult study is organized into a variety of volunteer-led sessions usually lasting 4-6 weeks on a variety of topics from Bible studies to spiritual growth.
Childcare for children 5 and under is available from 8:30 am until the conclusion of the 10:45 am service.
Following the 10:45 am worship service we gather in Gifford Hall for coffee hour, featuring lots of good food and fellowship.
What You will See and Hear
We are a progressive Christian church that grounds itself in the love of Jesus Christ as understood in the scriptures of the Christian faith. We intentionally seek to live out the greatest commandment (Mark 12:28, Matthew 22:34-40, Luke 10:25-29) by choosing to love every minute, every day. Sometimes we are good at choosing love, and sometimes not so much, but as a community we are committed to God and to one another for the whole journey. With this in mind, we won’t tell you what you must believe. We leave plenty of room for believers, questioners and questioning believers. Let’s grow love together!
