After many conversations with the Town of Winchester Health Department, it has become clear that we sadly will have to cancel our 2020 Holiday Faire due to COVID‑19. We feel that the faire cannot be held both successfully and safely. Many thanks to the Crawford team who worked so hard to find a way to make this happen.
On Sunday, October 11 at 1:00 pm, we will gather near the old garden to build a new one and to decorate for Halloween. Two separate activities so double the fun, but you can do both so no need to choose.
Please wear a mask and maintain 6-foot distance as best you can, even though we are outdoors. We want everyone to stay healthy.
We will be out there for at least 2 hours so if 1:00 doesn’t work for you, come on by later.
Look forward to seeing everyone at 1:00 pm this Sunday!
We are not filling Thanksgiving baskets this year…Covid!! Instead, Crawford will be collecting gift cards. Our goal is 100 gift cards of $10 each from Market Basket or Stop & Shop. These will be donated to the Council’s Food Pantry which will distribute them instead of baskets. Please consider helping to reach Crawford’s goal…bring them to the outdoor service on November 1…or put them in the church mailbox if you can’t get to the service…or contact the church office at office@crawfordumc.org with questions or other ideas.
Crawford has received 2,500 pairs of socks from Bombas to distribute to charitable agencies and directly to street people whenever we can start to connect again. We need your help in deciding where to donate them. We are open to all suggestions. If you have a donation destination you would like added to the list of potential landing places, please let us know by calling the Crawford office @ 781.729.5056. Thank you.
Reed Solomon, a senior Boy Scout in Troop 507, which is sponsored by and meets at Crawford, is planning an Eagle Scout project to rehab and improve the Crawford playground. This project will be a benefit to Crawford, and a very worthwhile effort on the part of the Scout troop to give back to Crawford.
As part of the project, Reed has established a GoFundMe account to accept donations to help cover the cost of the materials for the project (mulch, benches, plants, etc.). He is soliciting support from his troop, family, friends, and the community in general. If you wish to make a donation, please visit the link. Any excess funds will revert to Crawford as the beneficiary of the project.
We look forward to this project and to the improved playground that can be used by the children and families of Crawford.
