Afternoon Tea at Rolling Ridge, June 2

On Monday, June 2nd, Rolling Ridge will host a special day with author Lawrence Kessenich, Rolling Ridge staff, and afternoon tea.  With the Rolling Ridge gardens and rhododendrons in full boom, it will be a glorious day of community and conversation with tea and time to stroll. Seating for Afternoon Tea begins at 2 pm, end time is approximately 4pm. The grounds and gardens will be open all day for people to walk, enjoy, and explore.

Prior to the Afternoon Tea, from 1:00-2:00 pm, Lawrence Kessenich will share excerpts from his new book, The Further Adventures of Daisy Miller (released in April, 2025). Copies of Lawrence’s book will be available for purchase and autograph during the Author Chat.  The tea is $45 per person, but the Author Talk prior is free and open to the public. See more on the Rolling Ridge website, HERE.

Bernadette plans to attend the Author Chat (at 1:00) and the Afternoon Tea (at 2:00) and invites you to join her!  You can register yourself HERE or let Bernadette know that you’re interested and ask her to sign you up. Explore your creative side at Rolling Ridge this spring. “SoulCollage® is a playful, gentle, often joyful way of exploring your life and your deep self. Using cutout images from magazines, individuals create their own unique  5” X 8” cards, where each card represents a different part of themselves or their world. There is a deeper level of knowing that is accessed through images.” While you’re there, enjoy the beautiful grounds of Rolling Ridge Retreat and Conference Center, situated on the shore of Lake Cochichewick. 2024 Holiday Faire, Nov. 9

The members and friends of Crawford Memorial United Methodist Church are hard at work preparing for this year’s Holiday Faire, to be held Saturday, November 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Our home-made apple pies will fill the freezer. Our crafters have been knitting, crocheting, and sewing handmade treasures all year and this is your chance to scoop them up! Our bakers and soup makers are getting ready to fill our baked goods table and snack bar, so you’ll have plenty of tasty options if you get hungry while shopping. Our White Elephant and Book Sale tables will soon be groaning with treasures. Plus the jewelry table, Christmas Room, and cookie bar! We hope you’ll join us in kicking off the holiday season at this beloved community event.

Blessing of the Animals, Oct. 6

Blessing of the Animals, Oct. 6

Please join us for our annual Blessing of the Animals, outdoors, under the tent in front of our church at 34 Dix Street, Winchester, MA, on Sunday, October 6, at 10am. We will celebrate communion*, have animal-themed music and have individual blessings for every pet who comes. We will give thanks for our animal companions, honor animals that serve in public safety and wellness, and celebrate those who have taken on the difficult work of animal rescue, shelter, and care. All are welcome (people and animals), so please join us and bring your critters, big or small. “If you can control it, you can bring it.” (Along those lines, please read these tips for keeping the peace among our blessed pets at the service.)

*In the Methodist Church, we practice an open table. You do not have to be a member of this church or any church to join us in Holy Communion. Where Christ is the host, all are welcome.
